The Board

The board of Charity Business is comprised of highly respected individuals from the charity, finance and IT sectors.

Bruce Keith (Chairman)

Bruce brings his extensive board, operating and M&A knowledge and experience to Charity Business. He has an impressive track record of growing businesses, launching new products and developing outsourcing strategies. Since graduating from Aberdeen University with an MA, Bruce has worked for Touche Ross, Coopers & Lybrand, 3i Group and Butterfield Fulcrum. He is a member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Scotland. 

Steve Round (Non-Executive Director)

Steve has a unique set of skills and knowledge which has helped him deliver success across diverse markets that include financial services, retail and the civil society - both in the UK and internationally. He is skilled in the delivery of all aspects of strategy, marketing, cultural change, operations and stakeholder engagement. He brings full financial services board experience to Charity Business having operated at international board level advising some of the best-known brands in the world. Steve holds an MBA from the University of Birmingham and is a fellow of the Chartered Institute of Marketing.

Steve is Chair of The Big Issue Foundation , a non executive director at Ecology Building Society and is on the Advisory Board of the Institute of Chartered Accountants financial services faculty.

Val Austin (Investor & Non-Executive Director)

Val is an IT professional who brings with her knowledge, not only of the IT solutions that the business is highly dependent upon, but also experience of in-house, outsourcing and off-shoring arrangements, encompassing operational service delivery for applications and infrastructure. Her previous experience includes senior executive management positions at both the Automobile Association and RAC plc, where she was involved in Customer Relationship Management initiatives. Val brings a broad range of business skills and has an MBA with distinction from Warwick University Business School.
