Kleinwort Benson Chief Investment Officer, Jeremy Beckwith, will lead the discussion with an overview of the economy and current market conditions. We will then hear from Ceris Gardner (Maurice Turnor Gardner) on Charity Governance and Mark Freeman (Charity Business) who will examine Risk Assessment for Charities.

Ceris Gardner, Partner, Maurice Turnor Gardner
Ceris, formally a senior partner with Allen & Overy helped to establish Maurice Turnor Garner in early 2009. Her areas of expertise include tax, estate planning and family governance, and charity and philanthropy. She is a member of the Society of Trust and Estate Practitioners, Secretary of the STEP Charity Special Interest Group, a member of the Charity Law Association and a trustee of the European Association for Philanthropy and Giving.

Mark Freeman, Chief Executive Officer, Charity Business

Mark has been involved in the UK charity sector since 1995 and is well known for his work in re-engineering charity finances and operations. He launched Charity Business in March 2000 after being involved in two major research exercises – one for Marie Curie Cancer Care and one with business consultancy Arthur Andersen – which conclusively showed that using shared services would result in substantial savings for UK charities.
